In many Syrian hotels you find walls or ceilings covered with ornaments fashioned out of gypsum, and then painted.
What is the name of this craft?
Where can I find pictures?

In the article here, http://www.architectural-review.com/essays/exploring-eye/exploring-eye-damascene-dereliction/8628255.article , it states, "Stripes of orange, cream and basalt black work their way up the facade, detailed with gypsum ornamentation that shrouds doorways and windows. Much of the decoration is coloured plasterwork, where tinted pastes replicate geometric patterned mosaic."
