How long can I stay in the USA with an ESTA visa, and does it reset?
I want to visit my boyfriend from late this month until late January, and I already have an ESTA visa. I know that the limit is 90 days, so it would be okay from that point of view, BUT I've already been in the USA twice this year to see my boyfriend, for two weeks in July and for three weeks in September/October. Does the ESTA Visa reset? I'm from Switzerland. Would I be allowed to enter the country or could I get into legal trouble? The reason why I visit my boyfriend for that long is because I start a new school in February and I want to spend as much time as possible with him before that and study there, too. Your ESTA authorization is generally valid for multiple trips over a period of two years (starting the date that you are approved) or until your passport expires, whichever comes first*. This means that as long as you received an ESTA authorization to travel, you do not have to reapply during the validity period.
