What will the government have to do to end the war in Zamboanga?

1. Get serious. Establish rule of law, which means only the government soldiers and police may use violence to enforce laws. The idea of local 'strongmen' and self declared warlords being in charge needs to end, all across the Philippines. Terrorists, extortion rackets, etc need to be dissolved by punishing their supporters, ie: politicians that pay a 'poll tax' need to be jailed as traitors, same thing for corporations or individuals that pay extortion or ransom money, and the harshest punishment should go to police and military leaders that make deals or work with any terrorist group. The homes, land and other property of known terrorists and their supporters should be seized and sold, until they have no supporters, and no where to hide.

2. build bigger prisons.

Recruit Moros into the AFP, provide some additional incentives, such as an irregular reserve status, that would allow the older Moro fighters to be reigned in, without as many rules and obligations to prevent them from sticking. The Confederate Sates of America had an 'irregular' army of volunteers, who would form up to fight battles, then dissolve and go home until called up again. Young Moros should be recruited to join the regular AFP. Moros make excellent soldiers, it is foolish for the AFP not to have them and keep them busy, instead of leaving them nothing to do but think about rebellion and uprisings.

4. Educate Moros that they can not make a treaty that gets concessions in exchange for 'peace' then break the treaty, to try and win more concession. This nonsense has been going on for over 100 years and needs to stop. the MNLF made a peace treaty with the Philippines government that created the Muslim Autonomous Region, in exchange for the MNLF Moros to stop terrorist activity, rebellion. Hence, the Philippines Government should declare the Muslim Autonomous Region Void, and retract any special laws or privileges given to that region, especially including any profit sharing scheme to divide income from oil, minerals or other natural resources between the Autonomous Region & the Philippines Government.

Get to the negotiating table once again and this time include the faction of Nur Misuari of the MNLF and the other MILF once again to bridge the gap between the two. This problem will never end unless we give Mindanao to the Muslim brothers. This is the only solution to end the conflice in the whole Mindanao area. This will go on and on 'til the break of dawn from this time until 10 to 20 years from now. Mark my word this will not stop. So again the same old scenario will occur when our children's children are already walking and talking even if we are all gone in this world.

I rather take the examples of the former Yugoslavia, Czechoslovakia and Soviet Union, they all want independence from each countries so what do you think they done, they fought one another until the government give in and announce that they are a new country under the UN. If we like to see Filipinos killing each other then why not go ahead knock yourself out. But if we want peace and instability in Mindanao give them what they want. We are not good in civil war I know that because we are the only country in southeast asia that never experience civil war in its right context yet. Japan has a civil war in the feudal Japan, Korea has a civil war in early 1950's and of course China had one in the middle of WW2 but us? Where it is I do not see it in our history books, that EDSA revolution is not a civil war. Did you hear a gun shot somewhere in EDSA during that time or people dying in numbers in the streets? None. So we never experience a civil war yet. Take a look at all the countries I had mentioned after civil war ended they are now prosperous and wealthy as a nation.

With muslims the war is never over until they are all dead so to end the war the government will have to kill them all...

Then they will want everybody to convert to being a muslim.

philippine should declare ceasefire immediately and listen to their cries.

they experience severe discrimination and abuse in their own soil.

they had not been invited to take part in their discussion of being part of philippine.

there is no referendum for them.

if philippine refused to do so, the violence happen in zamboange might been repeated in other areas.

it is predictable.

there is no peace till Philippine submit to their request.

oic already warn Philippine of any possible sanction.

philippine rely on arab market for their maid.

peace treaty and independence proposal.

Put all secessionists behind bars. Educate them and change their hearts and minds that separation is never going to happen.
