Rahul Gandhi is sincere and honest. He isn't cunning. Let us not be cynical. Agree as a sensible Indian?

I solicit the views of all right thinking Indians, who of late have been carried away by the propagandists into believing, that some Gujarati merchant can wave a magic wand and bring 'prosperity' to our nation. It should be very clear in the minds of the people that a sober leader is the need for our country's vast population which has now started feeling that they are also the part of the mainstream.

I am open to discussing this issue in detail with each one of you.

Update:

@Dhanesh: The body language easily tells cunning from the sober. For the masses of India, we need a person who has a ‘Caring for everybody’ persona. We always say that it is the perception that matters.

How do you say that we have been growing downwards since independence? It is because of our all-round growth only that a welfare scheme such as Food Security can see the light of the day. Tell me if there is any other country of the size of our population, which can boast off such a feat? And what is wrong with Nehru- Gandhi, if that works for India?

@sgc

I am posing this question based on the personality of Rahul Gandhi. It is not necessary that he should be projected as the next PM of India. I certainly wish that there should be sobriety in public life. The countries PM should be simple and honest. We are not a war mongering country where it takes all the cunning-ness to be able to rule. We are India.

Update 2:

@ Sridhar

Bisection, dissection and unification of the nations take place with the passage of times. History has shown us the bifurcation and reunification of Germany. We have seen the dissection of the erstwhile USSR in recent times. It is not as if ‘patriotic Indians’ are only living on this earth and they alone should have their say. As much as we adore our Gandhi’s and Patel’s, other nationalities have also privilege to support their Jinnah’s and Rajpaksha’s.

Your perception that ‘dynastic rule’ should be changed, even if against the will of the people, is not appealing. If the dynasty is working in India in a democratic way, where is the problem? And while for the likes of Modi bhai and his supporters, it may be a matter of pride and dream come true in becoming PM anyhow, for the ‘Dynasty’, as you prefer to call, it is a matter of sacrificing and working for the have-nots and poor people of India.

Update 3:

@ Syed Zafar Ahmed: Nehru- Gandhi family is luckily a perfect political reality of India. If the cynics call it ‘Dynastic rule’ it is their issue. What the sensible Indians are interested in is, a ‘caring attitude’ towards the vast sections of the Indian society.

Rahul, for a simple and loving India.

Update 4:

@Shuaib

If you think we can’t trust our leaders, then you are depicting yourself as an outright pessimist. It is always easy to say what you are saying and everybody on the street says that. And these people are covert supporters of a change for which they don’t care even if that be Modi bhai.

@Rajeshwa...

So what Ramdev is saying is correct. Join Patanjali yog immediately!

@DKS

Rahul Gandhi for the vision of India, and not necessarily for the Prime Ministership.

@mehtaap5..

All humanity is scared of a tiger, leave aside Rahul Gandhi. And how many tigers are there in India- Earlier it used to be Sardar Patel, then Golwalkar, then Bala Thakarey and now this Lion from the Gir!

@Golden

Even Indian ‘Goondas’ are bold and ruthless, but people need a polite leadership for a developing India.

Update 5:

@Truth

Cool gentleman cool! I am a simple Indian and that’s all about me!

Update 6:

@politica..

The manner in which you have written your answer doesn’t show that you have capability of judging somebody’s education degree, leave aside Rahul Gandhi. Your own ‘knowledge level’ is very pathetic.

And what is the ‘knowledge level’ of your Modi bhai, who needs to apply for a Rapidex English speaking course?

Update 7:

@Venkatesh VS

Cynics write this kind of letters and then call it a daring act. One can easily find these kind of insinuations against vulnerable persons, like happened in the case of Vadra earlier. Narendra bhai might have stolen some peanuts, because that is only where he could have laid his hands on. And that will not make news anyway.

    It suits certain parties in India to divide people and reap benefits. 'Divide and Rule' is as much applicable for these parties, as it was during the British Raj. Rahul Gandhi however lacks this 'quality'. He is simple, soft spoken, down-to-earth and realistic. Whether it ultimately helps him or not, is anybody's guess, but the young man, I am sure, is free from many vices that infect most of the politicians of the moment. His only 'crime' appears to be his relationship with the Nehru-Gandhi family.

    1. I agree with you with regards to the 'Gujarati merchant waving a magic wand' it will take much more than that, Modi's gujrat was already a relatively prosperous state with a lengthy coast line, a stron industrial base, an entrepreneurial people and proximity to Mumbai. Furthermore it is a homogenous state where he ruled by full majority. India is very different, what worked in Gujrat may not work for India as a whole.

    2. Rahul Gandhi, is not fit to rule india either, notice the world rule and not lead. He has not proven any ability to politically maneuver he's way through elections, how will he look after the country's foreign policy. He has yet to experience any position like CM or Union minister. He is not ready for the drivers seat at all.

    I wonder if this secularism is true, they keep appeasing minorities, chanting minority rights slogans and show up on minority festivals to appease the masses but no concrete fairness is advocated for. I think they've just gone around making a fool of the country's minorities for the vote bank. People want equality of opportunity and expression which unfortunately in the worlds largest democracy is in short supply. Some however do advocate that the kind of family rule within congress has given it the sort of stability to required to govern a large, poor, heterogenous, diverse and uneducated country in a democratic way... And maybe the like to keep it as that so theyr rule can continue.

    I am less concerned as to who comes up as the prime minister, it is important to have a balance of power, the parliament should not have a single party coming close to majority and therefore large coalitions would run the government with the opposition having close to balanced clout to keep the government in check. States should I hope be run by smaller parties who are members of the larger coalitions that either run the government or are opposition, this way state governments would be more efficient and accountable.

    The key is balancing power in the legislative and executive branches of government so no party or person runs supreme, I don't think we have the kind of leaders that we can trust anymore, we don't have leaders, they are career politicians.

    To reply to your reply.

    A pessimist would not and kill himself, you have either not understood my reply or you simply have a preconceived notion and are willing to bend everything to suit it.

    It does not matter who wins, it is better that the winning part don't get a strong majority, it is best for India if the government is some sort of minority government so that it can b kept it check. Any government that has too much power or too many seats and clout will misuse it.

    Your talk of pessimism, now tell me after our first generation leaders, I'm speaking of those who actually fought for our freedom, how many government have a clean sheet? All full of corruption.

    Tell me what kind of democracy is it if Rahul claims pmship just because of he's birth and that some ancestor of he's was the first pm. Tell me if this sounds fare and just to you, Gandhi for pm because he's a descendent of Nehru.

    Indians have already suffered bisection of Union of India into India and Pakistan & also Bangladesh, due to wrong decision of Gandhiji ( as contemporary Bhishma Pita), supported by late Sirdar Vallabhai Patel in handing over the Nation to wrong and conceited Leaders who further dissected the Nation subsequently from 14 States to 28 States for their own selfish motive and with this exercise continuing people don't want Dynasty rule any further and look for some change.With due respect to the Scions,I wish to point out that people frustrated en-mass have become sceptical and are on the look to find out if there is any equally competent Leaders to handle the Nation and really care for the common man.

    Agreed, he is not cunning. But he may be cunning enough to appear not to be cunning in front of public..

    And not being cunning is not the only qualification for being a Prime Minister. Infact it is a necessary quality needed for a leader.

    We have been growing downwards since independence, countries which were considered equally to us have leaped decades ahead.

    So why dont we come out of the Nehru-Gandhi family and give others a try (not necessarily the gujju merchant)

    I agree with you.

    But the fact is, Sonia Gandhi does not want Rahul to take any Govt. Post.

    Rahul himself is not interested in accepting any Govt. post. He is much happier with the organisational work.

    This is media, some over enthusiastic congress men and the opposition which are raising this hype of Rahul, forecasting as the next PM of India.'

    And your name is Vijay D, either a Corrupt Congress member or a paid member or worst mentally challenged person who has lost all ability to differentiate between good and evil.

    PS:- NDTV is a paid channel. Corrupt Congress pays this channel. Reason. All news channels are telecasting Modi's rally live but this so-called news channel (in reality a Corrupt Congress propaganda channel) is telecasting some worthless program. Dear NDTV please tell us how much you are being paid.

    Yes.Agreed.But he has to get experience in official/Government systems and in international politics especially when India is getting trouble from the neighbouring countries so as to take bold and diplomatic decisions.

    He is neither a sober nor a strong personality.

    So,Congress can't project him as a PM [Goat] candidate before NM.[Tiger].
