Does anyone know the children's book I'm talking about?
I had this book in the '70s but it may be older. It had several adventure stories with sequential panels and no words. The art style was like a newspaper comic strip (think Wizard of Id quality). I remember someone being scared and imagining wild animals after him, but it turned out to be his own dog. I also remember a scene with a thunderstorm and seeking shelter in a dilapidated barn or shed.

This reminds me of a book were there's a tornado and a boy is seeking shelter in a barn with his dog and the farm animals. But I don't think it's the same story.
