Would you use a bath if it was right by the toilet?

I'm a shower person too but when I'm at hotels, I want to have a long bath. I often find hotel rooms with that kind of setting. I think it's unhygienic to use the bath if it was right next to the toilet stool. Unless there's shower curtains. Then yes. Weird habit I know.

Why not. Proximity doesn't mean a whole lot. I watched a Myth Busters TV show where they investigated the amount of EColi on toothbrushes in the bathroom. They started with new brushes and as a control they put brushes in the living room, bedroom and kitchen as well. At the end of one month the brushes they were using in the bathroom had no more EColi bacteria than the ones in the other rooms. Live with it and enjoy your bath. Or you can do like the Japanese do and put the toilet in a separate room, which really won't make a difference.

I live in a rented house and the bath the sink and the toilet are all in close proximity! Goodness me! Look at the poor people in the third world who live in little shacks and have to walk for miles for a few grains of rice and to find clean water! Be grateful that you have hot and cold water on tap ..!
