gerbils started carrying bedding his mouth?

Yeah so I have had my two boy gerbil for a few months now, but just today they have started stuffing their mouths full or their bedding (wood shavings stuff) , walking to the other end or their tank, and dropping it.

I've never seen them doing it before, is there any reason why they just started?

I hope they are two boys! I don't have enough space or money to have baby gerbils!!!

    hi, i am a well experienced gerbil pet owner, dont worry its is the way they transport their bedding to their personal standards they are very exact in how they want to have their bed it an instinct just as it is an instinct to bury their food bowl to hide from rival gerbils and predators in the wild.

    They might be just making a new nest for them to sleep at! I have two hamsters and when they want to move somewhere else to sleep at they start moving the wood shavings and the bedding around.

    Are your gerbils definitely boys? They may be nest making if one of them is pregnant?

    If not, my hamster does it all the time when he's been cleaned out and he doesn't like his new layout :p

    they are probably just rearranging things. i have 2 boys who do that sometimes
