My previous address in the Philippines doesn't have a house number too but mails delivered to me just fine whether it's Fedex, DHL, EMS or USPS. What important is you indicate the street name, name of baranggay or subdivision and of course the name of the recipient. Some provinces have Purok numbers and Baranggay names as alternative to street address. Mail carrier usually call the cellphone or home phone of the recipient especially Fedex which requires you to put the recipients contact number. That way, they keep in track with the receiver's location. In case of EMS or USPS packages, the recipient just receive a mail/package notice from the local office then s/he have to go to the office to claim his/her package and pay some Php30 or more depends how big the package is. There s/he must present proper identification and the mail notice.

I bought a gadget from an Korean online store. I need it badly hence I availed of express delivery that comes woth a hefty charge of course. FedEx, delivered the parcel on the fourth day. It was only our maid who was in our house. She was told there is a storage charge and taxes to be paid. I was never advised about this hence I did no leave cash. She was plainly told to call those numbers in the invoice. All those numbers are 1800s, meaning there will be additional charges. I emailed them, but there was no response.What an insensitive company this FedEx!. Let s boycott this company.

LOL Well some areas in the provinces only have street names with houses with no numbers, so it is not uncommon. Some don't even have street names at all. Although what you have to remember that in the not so distant past, many parts of rural America (well some still are) only have a handful of people living on it, where there is one big main road, a few secondary ones & mostly dusty trails. A time when everybody knows everybody. So there you go, the mail carrier knows everybody & everybody knows the mail carrier & everyone knows each other & where they live.
