Can I download a free copy of a game if I have the CD?

Sounds stupid, yeah, but my laptop has a second battery in place of a CD drive. No way to install it. Is it possible that I can legally download a game I already have to install it, or another way to install without the disc, maybe by copying files or something.

    Unfortunately, not without buying a digital copy of the game. Your only alternative might be to get an external CD drive, which are pretty cheap these days and connects to the laptop through a USB port.
