Do you understand the poetry of Pablo Neruda ?

What is the poetry "Childhood and Poetry" all about? I can't understand the poet , may you explain this to me ?

And what does this paragraph mean ?

-²The sheep's wool was faded. Its wheels had escaped. All of this only made it more authentic. I had never seen such a wonderful sheep. I looked back through the hole, but the boy had disappeared. I went into the house and brought out a treasure of my own: a pinecone, opened full of odor and resin, which I adored. I set it down in the same spot and went off with the sheep.

I have some questions to this paragraph.

What for wheels had escaped? What is he referring of?

What does the sheep mean ?

And why did he bring a pinecone ? What does it symbolize ?

- I'm really confuse, can you please explain this paragraph ? Thank you and

I have questions to the poet also;

Why did the author considered feeling the "affection of those unknown to us greater and more beautiful than feeling the affection of those whom we love ?"

Who is he referring of ? Quit confusing:0

And what recent events in the world would prove the idea that "all of humanity is somehow together"?

But why Humanity .

Thank you already in advance, please try to answers my questions because i can't get the poet . Thank you.

    It's a thought provoking piece and P.N. is one of my faves, but enjoying a piece need not be diminished by trying to deeply understand. Read deeper into the sense of it, We all may have different interpretations than the author in his original intentions, which he may have in fact hoped for.
