Why using a gun to commot suicide counted as gun violence?

Very interesting question - just what is "gun violence" - just having a gun? - no - how about waving a gun at somebody? - no - that's not gun violence! But of course, killing yourself is NOT GUN VIOLENCE - its a means to an end - you could just as easily throw yourself in front of a train and accomplish the same thing. What if I buy a large knife and wave that around - would I be committing "Knife Violence?"

How about building bombs? - is that "bomb violence" - would all those actions be followed by a national entity demanding that I have the right to WAVE KNIFES, BUILD BOMBS? - surely not - but if I own a gun - wouldn't the best thing be for me to finish off the complaining and Kill myself with it? That way I could at least BUILD UP THE STATISTICS for the ANTI-GUN LOBBY! Finally- I have done something to make my folks proud.

Because the definition of violence is "the exertion of physical force so as to injure or abuse." Nothing about either applications or exceptions for specific circumstances.

Pretty sure the dictionary has nothing to do with politics one way or another.

Because it fist the phrase "gun violence."

I realize as a conservative you have trouble with the definitions of words, but i think i'ts fairly simple. The word violence includes violence towards yourself, always has.

Because it is violent and it's done with a gun. Why wouldn't it be counted?
