Isn't Eurovision a massive waste of money?

It's a waste of money when the UK enters people like Bonnie Tyler and Englebert Humperdink, nobody is gong to vote for a couple of pensioners when there are countries entering good songs by young people who understand contemporary music. The past 10 years I wouldn't have voted for any UK songs even if we could vote for our own country, they've been awful

A lot of people watch it. When you watch it people contact the host and he mentions them, if people didn't it probably wouldn't be in a prime time slot and take over other programs

I watched it last year and this year I'm quite annoyed that it's more of a political thing than a song contest, all the countries voting for each other

i think they only dont vote for the uk because uk automatically gets into final unlike other countries, but since uk funds it surely it'd be unfair for them to fund a competition they didn't enter

I got as far as 9 o'clock last night, and then switched to Lewis on another channel. Quite how I lasted for an hour of that rubbish (at least Terry W. used to be a bit amusing, if it all got a tad the same over the years) I'm not sure - case of 'nothing else'.

Yes, it's high time we pulled out. I didn't see how the voting went but wasn't the winner expected? UK only has Ireland to vote for us - perhaps so there's no way we'll ever win again.

ps I did see Malta and liked his effort. I also thought Russia was good, even if their song subject was questionable, from Russia LOL.

Add - Totally agree about our two most recent candidates. If we are going to use pensioners, at least the song has to be contemporary.

I recorded it but then couldn't be bothered to watch it except for Bonnie Tyler and the results at the end. It is a total waste of time and money and I think England should now bow out as we are never ever going to win - Europe hate us.

It is indeed. I watched some of it but got bored. I hate the whole politics around it.
