Can private dentists write NHS prescriptions?

Can a non-NHS dentist write a prescription for medicine to be acquired through the NHS?

    If they do not operate within the NHS they cannot write NHS prescriptions.

    No. If you're being treated privately then you aren't eligible for an NHS prescription
