How much should you feed a cat?

Question

So my host parents are out for the day (it was an emergency) and they asked me to feed their cat.

However, I have absolutely no clue how much you should feed a cat and how many times a day? 

 I found a packet of those dry crunchie things and I found a can of something with jelly in it, in the fridge. Should I feed her both or just one of those? 
And roughly how much? I don't want to starve/overfeed her, even if it is just one day. 

Does anybody know? Any help greatly appreciated.  :)

P.S. She's an old cat, on the packet of crunchie things it says "senior" Does that make any difference?

Senior cats shouldn't be fed too much so 1-2 packets of the wet food (jelly) a day should be enough and small portions of the dry food in between. I have two cats however neither of them are seniors yet so I am not 100% as to how much you should feed a senior cat however you can google it for more information.

Usually just the tin of jelly stuff however you could mix the two in moderation into the bowl it won't over feed or underfeed her, you could maybe ring and ask parents if your not sure but usually just a bowl of jelly meat does again if unsure mix it with that crunchy stuff
