I have had a cold for two weeks and Sunday green snot came out my eye and has not stopped since. Why is that?

I went to the doctor Monday and he told me it was an upper respiratory infection and allergies. I told him I had green crap coming out my eye. He never told me why that would be happening.

You need to be on a antibiotic.

"Pink Eye" will give you that symptom....you generally receive an antibiotic prescription from a doctor to kill the bacteria.....There is also the possibility of an infection in your ear that can affected your eyes before your hearing that is of the same type of infection. You need the prescription in that case as well of course. I've experienced both situations in the past. I was never told how an infection like this is developed except someone spreading it to others by touch.
It sounds like the respiratory infection spread to the sinus cavities and then to your eyes from there.
......so keep your hands clean after wiping it from your eyes because you will pass it along to someone else.
