Windows XP Programs Not Responding To Shut Down?
I have a 7 year old Compaq desk top computer. Yeah, I know Mr. Bigshot High Tech but its all I can afford now .Anyway, I'm running Windows XP Pro on it and for the most part I don't have very many problems. My question is, why do I keep getting these "Program Not Reponding." messages every time I shut down my computer? It's always the same five programs on my computer but it doesn't happen in the same way.. Sometimes 3 messages will pop up. Sometimes only 1 but overall, it's always these same five programs. Is there anything I can do to fix this problem? Would a defrag have any effect on this? Any help would be appreciated.
Additional info - All of these programs that won't respond to shut down are programs that activate themselves. I'm not sure if they activate on start up or when I open my browser.. Divix updater is one and uTorrent is another. I'm also online via wifi receiver.

it could be because of low memory space on your computer or because these programs are big/too hard to run on XP... Idk something like that. Try closing these programs before shutting down each time.
