Well I mean she obviously has professional stylists doing it but there are ways to get it similar to that color at home yourself. No, you don't have to use bleach.. there's something called developer which is kind of technically bleach but not really. It still damaged your hair though so you have to make sure it stays healthy.
One thing you should know, red hair is VERY hard to maintain. I had my hair done that color and every time I showed tons and tons of it came out. It's normal.. but it's just what happens. It's because the red particles are a lot larger than particles of other colors, therefore they wash out of your hair faster. Ariana Grande gets her hair touched up about every 2 to 3 weeks to keep it that color. This is where you need to decide how much you want it and how much you're willing to spend. If you get it done at a salon at first, you're going to keep having to go back to the salon for touchups because they use specific kinds of dye and if you go and do it at home for touchups after the salon, it won't wind up the same color and you'll probably damage your hair. Keeping it up at the salon is very expensive but you'll probably have better results. If you're really pinched for money though you could do it at home. There are tons of youtube videos of people explaining how they dye and care for their red hair.
She does a good job.. she did it herself, started out really red and then went to a color that was more like Ariana's:

This is about her touchups and how she went a little darker (this color is more like Ariana's)

You can just look up red velvet hair on youtube to find what you're looking for. You could also try looking up magenta hair. The thing that's so unique about Ariana's hair color is that it's not really red.. it has a more purple tone to it and that's what makes it so pretty.. and it also goes with a lot more things than fire red hair would. It's a little more subtle.. if that's possible.
Also.. like I said.. all these people use developers.. which IS lightening your hair and damaging it in the process.. so just take extra good care of your hair. If you were to straight up bleach your hair and dye it that color it wouldn't stay in very long at all. Once you bleach your hair blonde it's very hard for the hair to hold color because of how damaged it is. That's why your roots of hair are always brighter when they get dyed, because they're new, undamaged hair. I had ombre hair and was thinking of going back to red and my stylist said not to until the blonde grows out because there is no way it will hold the red color.
ALSO. I VERY STRONGLY SUGGEST NOT DOING THIS IN THE SUMMER!!!! It comes out a LOT in the shower.. imagine how much it would come out if you went swimming? It's such a pain in the *** to maintain for very long. I think you should totally do it at some point because it's a really fun hair color to have, but just wait until swimming season is over!
I hope this helped!
EDIT: Really, it's not a touch up every two months kind of thing. If you want it to stay as vibrant as Ariana's or as it is when you first get it, you really have to touch it up every 3 weeks. There was an interview with Ariana and she said she had to get it done that frequently as well.. of course it's a lot easier for her because there are professionals scheduling it and probably paying for it as well. When I had my hair like that it was very faded after a month and looked kind of bad.. so I had to go get it redone again. There are also special shampoos and conditioner for red hair as well which deposits more red color on to your hair.. they help but not completely. But just to be clear I'm not saying don't do it! Totally do it! Go for it! Just not in the summer!

Go to CVS,Wallgreens,Wallmart, those type of places there is hair dye called splat i used it and my hair was dark brown my hair was really red like hers and it stays for a while if your not comfortable not using bleach then go to sally's and get bleaching powder. You apply it to your hair without the nasty liquid bleach instead its just a powder. then if you want to get Ion colors instead of splat you can get ion cheap at sally's so if your hair is long get 2 tubes of ion. ion and splat have good selections of vibrant colors so if you are already going to sally's why not just get Ion your there its cheap too. :)
Oh and if you want it to stay colorful for a few months you should touch it up every 2 months just so your roots match and you stay bright :)

That splat makes a mess... especially if you aren't pro doing your hair. There are a lot of colors, even at walmart, that you can get will be about the same color as hers.

Depending on my disposition (and there are many, just such as my personalities) I feel that heading from black hair to blonde will be like- BAM! in your face, see me- here I am, is this not the greatest thing you have got ever seen.
