Can you sign up for FAFSA even if you aren't planning on going to college right after high school?
I don't think I'm going to be able to go to college right after High School, but I was told by a friend that I should still sign up for it. Is this a good idea or should I wait until I am actually going to college?
I don't know if this matters, but I'm planning on going at the beginning of next year and I'm planning on going to a community college.

If you're planning to attend college in the fall 2013 or spring 2014 then you should fill out the FAFSA now. If you're not planning to attend college until fall 2014 then you will need to wait to fill out the FAFSA since that application is not available until January 1st 2014. If you're not sure then you can go ahead and do it (it's free and doesn't hurt anything). But, you will not hear anything back from the school unless you've applied to the school and been accepted.
