Is chasing wealth really worth it?

So I have been thinking that may be i shouldnt worry about money why chase dollars all your life To race up to the very top of a matrix we made when we started this U.S. captiolist country. With this country being so perfect even if you could change something would it really make a diffence or a difference in the lifes of others or in the long run anyway. it seems to me that most people who aquire true finacial wealth lets say billions used methods that were just short of heartless to get there and mostly off the backs of othere's and via products and service that are just crap anyway. I know it wouldnt be difficult to be that way but i dont think i could turn off out being outright ruthless. Such is the movie limitless and the gift. Why not just room with family and friends til I am gone. Why care about how much you make a year or how much your family has or neighbors have or anyone else. At any point in your life no matter how much you have you must one day give it all back after your dead.
