Sophomore who joined outdoor track, tips on getting in shape for it?
Hey im a sophomore who just joined outdoor track. Im 5'9 and 155lbs and im in pretty good shape. My only problem is i was never on a track team. I don't know much of the events except for 100m 200m... and so on. In the beginning of the year on my pacer test i was able to run 50m back and forth for a total of 3.1 km without stopping.
However in the winter i got really lazy and lost shape a little bit and I havent tested myself yet but i think i may have lost my stamina and speed.
What kind of stuff should i do to bring my Stamina up and speed. Also what kind of things should i be prepared for in a High school outdoor track team.

To get better endurance go for like 20-30mins runs try to run it at a faster pace each day.
Another good endurace track workout are ins & outs (jog the turn, sprint/stride the straightaway for about 4-6 laps)
And do pushups, situps, crunches, lunges, frog hops, squats. and other types of plyometrics. sprinters are powerful so build up your muscle strength as well
