    I know people who have referred to their impending death as a cure.

    It's nothing new or even unique to Christianity. Socrates plainly took that view.

    I'm not really sure why you're surprised that folks keep putting stuff up on these silly social nets. I read of a boy who wanted to set some world record for postcards. He either died or got better, but the request keeps popping up on the web. Go to Snopes. They've gone dozens of them.

    Rather than be offended and disgusted, I suggest learning to use your delete key.

    I started reading the real story but I couldn't continue. I love kids and it guts me to read articles like that. I don't care about the facebook thing, they are just idiots but it brings me to tears (and I'm a fairly macho type bloke, big bushy beard, ride motor bikes) when I read about the little bloke struggling to cling onto life
