I have a couple of questions I have seemed to get wrong and I need help answering them! It's not for homework. It's a lesson that I got a couple of questions wrong on but it will be coming up for the test so I need help understanding. I got most of them right except for two that I need help on. Thank you!
1.State a true conclusion: 1. if it is June, then it is summer.
2. It is summer.
What is the conclusion? NOTE: I put it is June, but it was wrong.
2.State a true conclusion: 1. If you accept the hypothesis, you accept the conclusion.
2. You accept the conclusion.
What is the conclusion? NOTE: I put that you accept the hypothesis--but I got that wrong--so I changed the answer to the whole statement is true since you've accepted both--but I got that wrong, too.

Think of it this way.
You are given...If it is June, then is is summer.'
You could also add that 'If it is July, then it is summer.' (Not stated, but makes logical sense and is a possibility)
Now with that information if someone tells you is is summer, you can't positively tell them which month it is.
I would think an answer would be something like:
'It could be June'

Similar thinking.
You could add this to the mix 'If you reject the hypothesis, you accept the conclusion' (Not very logical, but is possible).
Then if the conclusion is accepted, you don't know whether it was because the hypothesis was accepted or rejected as both cases lead to the conclusion being accepted.
So another answer here would be something like:
'We don't know whether or not you accepted the hypothesis'
