why do I need permission to delete these files?

I am the only person that uses my lap top and I'm trying to delete some temporary files but a window says I need permission if I am the only person using the computer who am I supposed to get permission from most of the files begin with ibtmp.I don't know what to do now I've run an anti-virus scan it makes no difference does it sound like a virus? As I have said no one else uses the computer so there is no one to get permission off .can any one help.

I presume as I'm the only person using the computer that I am the administrator

    Do a search for "how to show system and hidden files in your OS"..XP,

    Vista, 7 or other.

    Files may be in use or protected. Boot into safe mode and delete.

    In Windows XP and earlier versions, if you were the only user, you always had administrator privileges, but that has changed for better security.

    Try logging in as administrator
