Are people in America becoming more afraid and suspicious of maniacs and weirdos since mass shootings?

Though the nation is still in shock and grieving, I doubt that Americans will suddenly choose to live in fear.

Schools across the country are tightening security. There will be copycat attempts, but people will cope and get on with their lives in time.

    No.

Even if people are momentarily more afraid or suspiscious, they will eventually find a way to return to a normal state. Think about this. People are killed every single day.. somewhere in the world, there is a massacre almost every month (maybe more than one a month) even so, we look at one massacre and say "Oh, How horrible! Nothing this bad has ever happened before!.. blah blah blah." A month later some other tragic event occurs and the person reacts in the exact same way. The human mind is capable of recovering from great tragedies with ease.

Personally, since the past three mass shootings (the Oregon mall one, Connecticut, and the Newport Beach, California parking lot one) that have all happened within the past week, I am a bit more paranoid about something happening to me or near me to people I know. So yes, so much chaos happening so fast -- it's kinda scary.

I think its because of these darn violent video games like pacman and lunar lander.
