Is the Canon 650D much better than Canon 600D?

No. and trust me you wont like the touch screen very much on the 650D. Buttons > touch screen
I have the 600D (T3i / Kiss x5) and it takes awesome photos. I've look at side by side photos of the two cameras and I can't notice the difference. Save your money and buy the 600D or even the 550D to buy better lenses / equipment that will further enhance your video / photos
