Buying a firearm as a gift?

My fiance wants to buy me a handgun for christmas.. he doesnt kno i know but he cant keep a secret to save his life. We live in ohio. Can he purchase it and give it to me legally? I am.eligable to own a firearm

    If he is at least 21, has a clean background, and money, he can buy it. If you are at least 18 and have a clean background, you can receive it as a gift.

    Yes, just make sure the recipient is also eligible to own a firearm.

    he can do that but, he'll have to register it in his name. it can be put in your name later.
