On this Thanksgiving day, I would like to pose this question.?

We have that opportunity every 2 years at the voting booth.

But the answer is no, we will never speak with one voice, and no, our Reps haven't been able to 'repair' America in 200 years. We The People will have to do it ourselves. I suggest a good first step would be to quite voting for the 2 biggest political parties. They've got a lock on the system and so long as they hold the ground, nothing's going to change.

Republicans and Democrats do not agree on the path to a better future. Geitner says set the debt limit to infinity. I'm sure the democrats think that is how much money we have. In reality, we have a serious spending problem. The government is not supposed to control our private sector nor regulate it out of existence. That would be an indication of creeping communism. Is that really what you want? What kind of America do you want? Should it really be that easy to take over 200 years and change it willingly to something half the people totally reject?

So, what you're saying is that Congress should give in to every proposal Obama puts on the table ? I say, the only thing that will save this country is a partisan Congress that will step up and tell this pychopath in the white house, no ! It's either that or he will have the debt ceiling pushing 20 trillion, and the foreclosure sign hanging from the Statue of Liberty !

That would be great but this country is so divided, it really is sad we can not get past our own problems and help everyone else and maybe get this country in order before trying to fix every other country in the world.We need to fix this country beofre we mess up any others.

Unity is pretty evident on this forum, based on the amount of hatred one side has against the other.

It would NEVER happen when congress is 1 party and white house is other. Forget it.

It is a political gridlock and Obama is a lame duck. The election was pointless. His agenda will not move anywhere

I think term limits for all should be the order of the day. That way the entrenched cannot build up their influence to stay in office until they croak.

Yes we could. The House said it was more than willing to compromise. But when a President, who is suppose lead, rather than reaching out, basically says I dare you to defy me, that causes conflict. Obama know he cannot raise or cut taxes, unless the House originates it. So it kind of makes him look like he doesn't want to work together

Too late. Obama's plan to destroy America is well underway passed the point of no return.
