Why would I ever favor science over religion?

Science is forever changing, at least almost all religious faiths has remain true to its beliefs. Why would I favor something that has holes, rather than something that is solid. Atheists only seem to "disprove" religion, based on SCIENTIFIC THINKING. Thats like saying im gonna describe batman from the view of the Joker, its biased. Science only has scientific fact, so it has no validity in religion.

Update:

Never said that science was another religion. Additionally, non of you have stated why religion is untrue and science is true, without using scientific fact. That's not rationale, thats biased thinking.

    Hello friend,

Science never changes. Science is based on laws that GOD created. The only thing that changes is man's understanding of true science.

However, to all you evolutionists out there, this theory is not based on science. In fact, it is completely contrary to what science is, fact. According to evolution, all species stemmed from a single ancestor. However, this belief strikes at the heart of evolution being caused by Natural Selection, as natural selection is an elimination process. According to Evolutionists, natural selection is a process which chooses the fittest to propagate the species while eliminating the unfittest.

However, in order for Natural Selection to begin this elimination process there has to be at least two variations of a species to choose from before a process of elimination can begin. Therefore, without a pre-existing variation of species, evolution by natural selection would be impossible.

Furthermore, because the Natural Selection process can only work with something that is there, it has to be assumed that what's there came about by random chance, if not credited to intentional creation. This belief goes against science, as science is based on law, not chance.

technological understanding isn't a god or faith. technological understanding is interior the business enterprise of researching and understandig how issues artwork. as quickly as all of us comprehend how issues artwork, we can engineer issues with that understanding. you are able to pray all you opt for to God and it won't supply you understanding of electronics, comprehend-how the character of electrons and the components used in electronics will enable us to create electronics. The scientific approach is the appropriate approach for reaching useful innovations on the character of our universe. technological understanding continues to be in it particularly is infancy and we nonetheless have lots to learn, yet all of this demands proficient persons, financing, and a concern of what we'd desire to constantly learn next (it particularly is in lots of cases money pushed). without technological understanding, you does not have your computing gadget or the cyber web to talk how ignorant you're and which you hate technological understanding. technological understanding only works and whilst it does not, scientist have not have been given any problems with researching why and enhancing what we theory we knew. So whilst scientist replace their minds, it particularly is a robust element. in assessment to religions, the books never replace, only the interpretations do.

Simple. Science is the right way of discovering what's true, and religion is about insisting something's true when it patently isn't.

In addition to your point added point - if you had even an ounce of common sense, then you'd go and discover what science is about before starting to whine petulantly about things you're too damn stupid to understand or investigate properly.

    "Science is forever changing"

Give us four examples where major theories have been completely overturned since 1850. Back up your claim with facts.

You cannot because you don't know of any, You know no science and you know no history of science, you are lying to yourself and to us and we know it.

Do I detect a hint of sarcasm in that paragraph? I am going to present to you a shocking revelation here, that might just throw you back a bit. How about taking religion and science on as two separate fields of study? Science is factual and is very valuable to humanity. So are ethics. If you are a smart person, few as they may be, then you can see the historical value of the Christian Bible in all of it's versions. News flash: Christianity is a flawed attempt to instill values in people. It is a layman's way of teaching people to be ethical. Has it always been used that way? Of course not. The holy crusades are an example of Christianity being not even close to 'at it's finest hour'. Everything in life has flaws. There have been numerous scientific theories throughout history that have been proven false. Here is one of the basic fundamental values taught by, but not always practiced by the Christian faith: "do to others as you would have others do to you", or the golden rule. IF people were to follow this rule, impossible to do at all times, then the world would definitely be a better place to live in, and people would be treated more fairly. A lot of people who dislike Christians, are people who have delta with some of the hipocracy of religious people. There are flawed Christians in the same way that there are flawed people from all walks of life.

Quelle(n): Our creator instilled in us the desire to think and reason; to figure out the working components of the physical world. Surely this creator intend for us all to discover scientific thought. Let us not neglect our spiritual desires, on account of the fact based thinking to which so many of us hold to. Ethical stances are invaluable to humanity's survival.

Science is not "forever changing". That is a misrepresentation of the process.

Yes, old ideas get discarded in favour of better ones. But the discussions are happening in the branches. The trunks are very solid, today, at the beginning of the XXIst century.

The heliocentric model, the theory of the atom, blood circulation, evolution, and of course, the mathematical foundations of it all, are not going anywhere. There is still debate among scientists, for example, as to exactly HOW evolution occurs, but there is no longer any real scientific debate about WHETHER it occurs. That part is not set in stone, like some religious doctrine; it is still open to examination - but it has already demonstrated it could survive the most stringent examination.

What you perceive as a weakness in science is, in fact, its biggest strength: Its willingness to constantly reexamine and correct itself. Traditionalists preclude the idea of correcting themselves right off the bat. But that's basically a formula for delusion. Rational people change the way they view things as new information becomes available.
