Alienware's are more high end and more expensive but are perfect for gaming. If your looking for something a little cheaper you might want to look into the Chromebook. The Macbook Air are cheaper versions of the Macbook Pro. If you want Windows 8 then you might want to get the Chromebook.

it is depends on what you gonna use the laptop for... if it is for game... you should buy something that has big memory and storage
for school---- usually MacBook Pro are good.
If you dont like MacBooks
You can get like a HP Envy Beats Edition... it is really good. I own one. It will come with a beat headphones ---and beats audio installed on the computer

Dell duo. It's a smallish laptop and you flip the screen around for a tablet usage. 320gb hard drive, 1.8 mp camera and great resulution. Google it its soo cool
