Do you agree with Republican Rep. Roger Rivard?
that "some girls rape so easy"?
You people should be more informed with current events. Look it up Einstein!!
Deaner 2.0 - You don't find it disturbing that he would make such a commen? Regardless of intent or circumstance?
I'm no troll, just an American veteran and patriot who is concerned about the direction of one of it's major political parties into control of women.

I looked the comment up, and apparently what he claims to have said was that his dad used that statement to say that a girl might have second thoughts after having sex with someone and claim rape.
Now, do I agree with that idea? In most instances, no. Research has shown that false rape claims make up a very small minority of reported rapes. There are a few exceptions, however. I knew a guy in college who was beaten within an inch of his life by a bunch of guys "defending the honor" of a girl who claimed he'd raped her. In fact, he'd never been with this particular woman, she was just a lying psychohosebeast who liked to cause trouble.
BTW, the comment Rivard made was in reference to a bill he proposed a bill recognizing that teenaged couples within a few years' age of each other ought not to be judged by the same standard for automatic statutory rape as say, a much older-younger case. In other words, my 18 year old girlfriend that I was sleeping with in high school at age 15 would not have been held to the same legal standard as say, a 35 year old dirtbag trying to get with a 9th grade girl. Many states already have similar laws on the books.
EDIT: Obviously it's a creepy comment. Perhaps it was seen as more appropriate in the era when Rivard's dad said it to his son, but it's certainly not the kind of language I would consider appropriate for the day. I've said that the statement is generally factually incorrect, as false rape claims are a very small minority of reported rapes, though they do happen. The bill Rivard supported which prompted the comment, however, has nothing to do with controlling women's choices or dismissing the seriousness of rape or any other rot like that. Now, it may be Rivard has said and done other things that would suggest he is every bit as much a neanderthal as Akin or Mourdock. I honestly don't know. But based upon the single comment the guy said, it's origins, and the legislation it was linked to, I'd merely say the guy needs to choose his words more carefully, and also learn a bit more about the statistics behind false vs. genuine rape reports
And I stand by my troll comment, as you clearly are trying to link what Rivard said to an entire political party as a whole. I don't believe Rivard's comments, (much less that loon Akin's) comments are representative of anything more than their own individual biases and views.

Never heard of him. I do know that democrat hero Al Gore doesn't find massage therapists to rape easy, though.
