Printer won't print from large ink tank. Why?
It's a Canon MG8120B printer. The printer has a series of smaller ink wells for different colors, including one for black. However, the printer appears to ONLY be using those tanks. There is a large tank of black ink that it seems to be ignoring altogether. This is making printing considerably more expensive. It didn't use to do this.
I can't find anything in the settings to indicate choice of ink sources. How do I tell it to draw from the large ink well when possible?

Hi,
The large ink tank tends to be used for documents only, and the small black inks for photos etc. This is because the ink type differs slightly so the ink in the smaller tank will work better for the high quality photos and also printing on photo paper, whereas the bulk ink is designed for documents and normal printing paper. If you wanted it to use the large tank you could set your printer to print in just black and white (sometimes called greyscale), however this would mean that there wouldn't be any colour on the page. This is usually done via the print properties area however it does vary depending on your operating system and which programme you are printing from.
