Do religious people find it hard to love others?

Do religious people find it hard to love others because they waste so much of their love on their god? Is that why you will shun your children for being gay or not believing in your god? Is that why you can't comprehend any man loving another man or any woman loving another woman?

I think the real question here is do people find it difficult to love others if those others aren't like them?

Religion decrees that you should love thy neighbours but it also gives you the opportunity to look down upon others for their 'sins'. People who are truly religious forgive sins because their god tells them to love everyone, because forgiveness is the grace of god.But sometimes, people like being superior, morally uncorrupted so much that they don't want to forgive people when they feel that those people have done the wrong thing. That in itself is a sin.

I believe that anyone can love if they choose to. Most religious people start out with good intent, but it becomes clouded by judgement.

I think its easier if you start from the point of a all loving god...

tolerance for sin is hate, not love.

What a silly question. Most people have trouble loving others...it has nothing to do with whether you go to church or not.

not at all, what you are saying depends from person to person.

eg Not all Buddhist monks are vegetarian even thought Buddha had become vegetarian later in his life and promoted vegetarianism throughout his lifetime.

I find it easy to love others even more than myself. I just don't think that "sex" and "love" are synonyms.

Love is never wasted on God or neighbour.

It can, of course be rejected as we see everywhere.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1 John 3:16 This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers.

Quelle(n): If this is a veiled reference to gay culture then we have to ask whether you are confusing the issue by your own value judgements in preference to God our Creator. The very one who clearly prescibes man/woman marriage biologically and spiritually also proscribes the culture of confusion, corruption and ultimate desolation.

no its not hard to love others

to love does not mean you accept immoral behavior as normal behavior
