Female singer 70s prog band name?
I remember once I saw a video on youtube of a 60s-70s progressive/ Psychedelic rock band performing on a live tv show or something. They had a female singer who had a really strange voice, really deep odd voice. The band was not Renaissance, and I remember think they weren't american or british either. I think they were from a non-english speaking european country. please help if you know the name of the band (the song was awesome).
Surefire Sundays is not Roxette, but man I hadn't heard that song in a long long time, holly shet. thanks for that
none of those, but still I think I found it. The band is Frumpy

Could it have been Blondie? With the deep voice, though, it's possible it was Janis Joplin. She had a nice raspyness to her voice.

Hmm. Roxette? They're neither progressive nor psychedelic, but they were popular around that era(Not really. Mid to late 80s, but whatever. Those decades are all lumped together now anyway >.<), had a female singer with a deep-ish voice, and were from Sweden.

Of course, if I were to suggest anyone, it would be Jefferson Airplane, but they were American.

*EDIT*
Really, it could have been any one of Grace Slick's projects. She was everywhere in the 60s and 70s.

That would be a better example of Marie's (vocalist for Roxette) voice
***EDIT***
Maybe the Grateful Dead back when Donna Godchaux was doing vox? Surely not Fleetwood Mac? I really can't think of many psychedelic bands with female vocalists (Grateful Dead, Grace Slick and Janis Joplin are the only ones I can think of) so now I'm just tossing out bands with deep-voiced women.
****EDIT****
Now I feel stupid. Was it Tully? They were Australian, and had a female vocalist in 71 and 72. They even had their own TV show (although it didn't last very long. At all)
I suppose Siouxsie Sioux was popular in a similar era, she had a deep voice.
