How did all the animals fit on Noah's Arc?

How could Noah fit trillions of animals on one boat? (male & female)

And how come they didn't eat one another?

These miracles in the bible don't happen nowadays...why?

Update:

P.S:

Sorry, I don't know why ' was written above.

( YC is weird...sometimes it's there and then not...)

I had the right spelling and all of the sudden it looked like this. Very mysterious!

P.P.S:

Hmmm...everytime "the believer " doesn't know an answer, he says: Well, god can do everything and knows everything, there's no reason and explanation.

(So, in short: Shut up and quit asking!)

We are not intelligent enough to grasp it!

So with this logic, I can go ahead and tell you: Listen, I'm your creator, I made heaven & earth ( in the dark- before I invented light! I can see in the dark... don't you worry about it- don't question it...if you do question me...IT'S ONE OF THE BIGGEST SINS...so don't you even dare!

I'm your boss now ( a bit like a 50s dad- so don't you ever talk back)

I move in mysterious ways, so even if you think I ****** up, I don't...beacuse you wouldn't understand...I'm god and I know everythin

Update 2:

@ nickdc19:

I respect your beliefs! Everyone should believe whatever they want!

But why was god mad at the humans? One did something wrong, right?!

So, he had to create a flood and wanted EVERYONE to die...just because one screwed up?

Sounds like he overreacted a tiny bit! How about some anger management?

Update 3:

@Lou C. Ferr:

WOW, it really took a lot of time to built this HUUUUGE boat! This guy must've been over 150 years old! What a man!

When I was a kid, I questioned everything, even though the bible says, you should never question the lord... ( but isn't that just an easy way out, if you don't have any answers!?)

The talking snake, the pregnant virgin, the split ocean etc ...etc...etc...

C'mon!

The bible has some good quotes, like: Forbidden fruits are tempting...let he who is without sin cast the first stone...

But a lot of people say intelligent things... doesn't mean you have to follow everything they say!

Update 4:

@버린자식l :

Thanks for the answer, you sound more reasonable than a lot of believers, that just shut down sometimes.

Well, I don't think that we are an accident, more like a beautiful chemical reaction.

This world is unique and full of mysteries and Sience has still a lot to explore. So, I don't think, this world is created by one guy. A man that makes the rules and has so many faults of his own. All explanations of the bible are stuck, don't you think?

And why was God always so mad at everyone? Even if there was just one sinner, he had to wipe everyone out for that.

Do you know the Sci Fi Show "Through the Wormhole" with M. Freeman. It is very intersting, one episode explores God.

In my life it's out all people, never just one person. I have a totally different view on life. Maybe that's why I don't even have a boss and work on my own.

Update 5:

@fritz dehrhecht: You must be really smart to call me that! Because

1. all I'm not american.

2. that's a racist thing to say

3. I'm german!

Und vom Namen her bist du doch auch eher deutsch oder???

Wenn ja, dann brauch man sich nicht wundern warum alle denken, wir seien Nazis.

I gather from your additional comments that you are not really serious but I will answer anyway.

The whole matter has been the subject of feasibility studies and it does stack up. First the Ark WAS huge and Noah wasn't 150 years old, he was 600! Many species probably developed after the flood so Noah only had to take a representative pair of each kind that God brought to him.

Genetic studies of the Y chromosome and mitochondrial DNA are consistent with this event. There is extremely low variation in the Y chromosome worldwide and there are 3 main lines of mitochondrial DNA.

Since everyone on earth is a descendent of Noah's family it is not surprising that variations of the flood story are common worldwide.

There are answers to many questions about Noah's ark in the link below. I suggest you read that and the account starting in Genesis 6.

Any sane Catholic or Christian will tell you to take the Bible contextually. In other words, it doesn't have to be real, or it could just have a deeper meaning in it and what not. Personally, I believe if someone did record it or something like that happened, was recorded they expanded as a parable or a lesson to the rest of their people, as many cultures have done this. A theory I came up with was that there was a flood in the land, and the man was most likely a Shepard or some kind of farmer. He had built a boat or some kind of object to stay above the water with the live stock... The live stock were the only animals he had known and cared for, while the surrounding area was his life - His planet as he didn't know anything better. Perhaps they have worshiped something different, or they broke a ritual - that's the only way they could explain it. Regardless, take it as a story, perhaps to teach a lesson. Some may be true, but it can be filled with lies and exaggerations.

It's legend, mythology, a story told to make a point. The point was not scientific accuracy. Many religions of the era had mythology including gods mating with humans to produce demi-gods and other strange things. The message of the flood story was that God didn't like that, so he wiped it all away with a worldwide flood, preserving just enough natural biological life to repopulate the planet. To the tribes of the Ancient Near East, the 'world' was just the Ancient Near East. That's all they knew about. As others noted, the various flood myths may have had a basis in what's called the Black Sea deluge hypothesis, see the reference.

Even Noah didn't try to carry all the animals, just a breeding pair of each. More for those which were going to be sacrificed upon landing.

People acknowledge the bible as something divine with its content being the word of "the Lord;" Has anyone ever thought that perhaps the bible, genesis, etc. were merely novels of human creation? "Paradise Lost" by Milton is a novel that portrays the story of Adam and Eve falling out of heaven in a perspective that is more compassionate towards the Devil. What if quite a few centuries from now, a group of people stumble upon the book and delude themselves into believing that the work was a creation of God as well, thus creating an entirely new religion? We would think them idiots for believing such nonsense, but I personally do not see the difference between this scenario and what many have accepted as "truth" today. Both the genesis and "Paradise Lost" describe the same story, just under different lights. Is it possible that a group of people happened to get a little carried away with a book that they stumbled upon a few centuries ago?

I know this doesn't answer your question, but perhaps it will help shed some light in support of your purpose for posing your question.

Noah's ark was supposedly built atop a mountain..

    I doubt that a water level..landed the ark there../

As for the animals being paired for mating../?

In those ancient times--there was always the secret..thing..

Possibly..Noah's ark was an attempt at building a fortress..

And the story of the end of the world--was the hiding place..

Since it would take many times over..materials..and people..

The actual trip--of animals--up a mountain..seems to destroy the whole story.

    Quelle(n): Just a guess.

there are many variations on the theme of Noah and his Ark. It is known, for example, that the Noah's Ark story was known to many ancient cultures throughout the world, each one having its own story and version of the Ark.

Apparenly then there many floods and this makes sense if we remember that about 12,500 years ago the Ice age was receding, meaning that many vast chunks of ice were melting and breaking off the main sheet. Floods would be caused by great ice dams behind which massive quantities of water would build up,

Finally this weakening ice could no longer sustain the weight of water and consequently all this water would burst through the retaining walls of ice. Such floods were enormous and cataclysmic leading to mythological-sized floods which were then recorded by the peoples around the world,.

It is also believed by many researchers that both the Mediterranean and the Black Seas were formed by narrow land bridges / "dams" giving way to release floods of Biblical proportions.

The point here is that the Arks would not have to hold trillions of animals taken from all the world over... only the local animals would have been saved in this manner, and not all of them at that. It would not be necessary to save animals that are free to roam everywhere and not bound by territorial needs, such as birds or other swift-moving creatures capable of covering large distances when the need demanded it.

Consequently the Ark may have been loaded with slow and easy to catch animals. Other animals would have jumped on board out of a natural desire to survive when they saw the water coming.

All of this must however fall in ther realm of speculation since it is difficult to report on the conditions existing on Earth at this time .

    He didn't.

Do you know that according to the Bible it took 120 years to build the ark?

At what point in time did anyone have the time to start rounding up these animals? His kids had to be at least 150 years old by then.

Why is this under the "Science" catagory -_-

Anyway, he didn't, its just a story. (I believe there is some sort of god or jesus like figure, but that the bible is just a bunch old, fictional stories with maybe SOME historical value [but not an aweful lot])
