Is is okay to go on a first bridal gown shopping trip when you know you won't be purchasing then?
Here's my deal.
1- I don't know what kind of style of bridal gown I like
2- I don't know what kind of style will suit me
3- I'm going overseas on a visit in the fall with relatives and would like to visit a bridal shop there to just get an idea of the styles that would fit me.
4- I most likely WILL buy from that store when I go back in the summer for my second visit, and will use the information from the first visit to look for actual bridal gowns that I like.
Is this okay?
I've been watching Say Yes to the Dress and I realize the consultants get paid based on the the dresses they sell and they have a quota and I don't want to jeopardize someone's job by taking up time....

It's fine - I told the shops that I had appointments at other shops because I was just looking and wanted an idea of prices.Just be aware that dresses are changed twice yearly and if you find a dress you love then it likely won't be available when you go back.When I was shopping,I walked out if I had any high sales pressure.Make an appointment (it's recommended anyway).One of the shops I went to,she had a customer (a man) who would make an appointment just to try dresses on (he was a cross dresser who was experiencing prejudice from his family and it was a 'safe' place to be)

Wait until you're ready to buy a gown, and buy one close to home. In the meantime browse dresses online, and print off ones you think you'll like. Do not waste their time playing dress up, and by coming in without he intention of purchasing anything, you are.
