Driving license in Uk?
Hello,
I'm from Germany. Soon I'll move to uk.
In Germany I was taking many driving lessons. I also did the test but I failed it.
Can I continue my driving training in Uk?? Actually I just have to learn how to drive from the left side...other things are same like in Germany or not??
Would it be easy for me because I already have experiences? Or Do I need to start from new??
I´m German citizen

Your German expeience will not count for much and you will need to be a GB resident for a time before you can take the test
"Taking a driving test
If you want to take a British driving test you must be a resident in GB. However, if you have moved to GB having recently been a permanent resident in another state of the EC/EEA, you must be a resident in GB for 185 days in the 12 months before your application for a driving test and full licence.
"To take a GB driving test you will need to either:
•apply for a GB counterpart licence (D58/2) by completing a D9 enclosing your community driving licence
•exchange your community licence for the British equivalent and request the appropriate provisional entitlement
A provisional licence document is issued free of charge. However, the appropriate fee must be paid and your community licence surrendered in exchange for a GB one when claiming the full entitlement."

As the Man mentioned earlier, you need to apply for the provisional driving licence. After you got the licence, you can start your driving lessons in any school or just find a private instructor. Yes, it would be easier for you to learn because you've got an experience. I haven't driven in Germany but I guess the rules are almost the same in most countries. So, the main thing you need to get used to is to drive on the left side.

You just need to apply for a provisional driving licence, you can get the form to complete from any post office here in the UK.
You will need to start your lessons from new however they will take into account you have a working knowledge of cars, so you probably won't need as many lessons.
