Muslims, you can do all the good things and still go to hell?

Muslims,

A troublesome Hadith was mentioned in Bukhari's Sahih, it roughly translates:

Muhammad said:

By God, who is no other god, One will spend his life doing the work of the people of Paradise until there is between them but an arm's length then his destiny claims and he does the work of the people of Hell then goes to hell, and one of you works of the people of the Hell until there is between them but an arm's length then his destiny claims and he does the work of the people of Paradise and he goes to Paradise.

End of Hadith

So in case you didn't understand let me tell you what this means. It says that a Muslim can spend his whole life doing good and helping others and doing all things that Allah loves, but since Allah have decided from the beginning that he is destined to hell that good person will do at least one last act of evil or whatever is supposed to send someone to hell, and all his good work perish and will be sent to hell.

And in the same Hadith the opposite is absolutely possible. One can spend his entire life doing evil deeds and basically breaking all the rules that Allah has put, but Allah has decided from the beginning that this person is to go to Paradise, so at the end of this evil person's life he/she might do one last good deed before death and therefore find his/her way to Paradise. Imagine Hitler/Saddam Hussain/Stalin in Paradise.

How is it fair that you spend your whole life doing good and obeying every command that Allah or Muhammad has ordered but since you are already destined to to go to hell all your good work means nothing and you still go to hell.

Is that Justice?

And whoever desires other than Islam as religion - never will it be accepted from him, and he, in the Hereafter, will be among the losers. (85) How shall Allah guide a people who disbelieved after their belief and had witnessed that the Messenger is true and clear signs had come to them? And Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people. (86) Those - their recompense will be that upon them is the curse of Allah and the angels and the people, all together, (87) Abiding eternally therein. The punishment will not be lightened for them, nor will they be reprieved. (88) Except for those who repent after that and correct themselves. For indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful. (89) Indeed, those who reject the message after their belief and then increase in disbelief - never will their [claimed] repentance be accepted, and they are the ones astray. (90) Indeed, those who disbelieve and die while they are disbelievers - never would the [whole] capacity of the earth in gold be accepted from one of them if he would [seek to] ransom himself with it. For those there will be a painful punishment, and they will have no helpers. (91)

If we submit.. fully.. pray.. give charity.. perform pilgrimage when we are able.. and strive in the way of God, then through his mercy, if he in his knowledge deems fit, he will guide us towards such actions which will help us attain his mercy and thus enter heaven.

    Have a look at:

    23:8-11

    2:62

    2:112

    4:125

You have not understood it correctly, here the summary is intention.in Islam we believe that good deeds can't be good until the intentions of the person are good.so a person does good deeds all his life but without intending good then those deeds are wasted,as the person doing these deeds didn't did them by heart. And person who has done bad deeds all his life and he does a good deed with good intentions in his heart then Allah will forgive him.this shows how merciful God is.
