Why is everyone jumping on the AW bandwagon?

And, no, don't try and tell me that you've always been his fan because you know damn well you haven't. Just like when a bunch of people all of a sudden started liking Punk and saying they've always been a Punk fan when the only reason they liked him was because of his shoot promo.

Am I mad he got fired just for making a joke that was not only "offensive", but not funny altogether? yes. I think they should have just somehow written him off TV and given him a suspension or something, but the fact that he is going on Twitter and acting like he was being edgy and all that is just stupid and the fact that a bunch of people are all of a sudden on his jock is even more stupid. What gets me is that he thinks he was bringing "attitude" to the WWE

Offensive humor wasn't the thing that made the Attitude Era great. It was the over the top gimmicks, great story lines, and great booking that made it amazing. The problem with WWE is that the storylines are poorly written and appeal to younger kids, with the exception of 2-3. AW wasn't being edgy, he told a joke that wasn't funny in the first place.

So, go ahead and tell me how I'm a PG fan/WWE fanboy and how you know more about wrestling because you've seen bits and pieces of the Attitude Era on Youtube and you all of a sudden think you know everything.

If you are here to actually answer the question, why are people treating AW like a god? He wasn't anything special and O'Neal and Young did just fine without him in my opinion.

Update:

You, my friend, are a great example of someone who isn't a bandwagon fan, and I don't want you to feel like I'm targeting you. This is more targeted towards the smarks who all of a sudden started liking AW after the Kobe Bryant joke

Update 2:

This clearly went over most of your heads

Why is everyone jumping on the AW bandwagon?

Because every time a WWE performer gets "future endeavored" WWE criticizers jump up and wail about how the WWE "sucks" because some mid-card performer got canned because the WWE never "used him correctly" or gave him a "fair chance" or any number of reasons. They act surprised (and get offended) that mid-card performers get fired.

Chris Jericho got suspended a few months ago for being "offensive" in South America. Chris Jericho is a major star and HE couldn't get away with being "bold" and having "attitude". AW was just a mid-card rookie, basically a nobody. What made him think HE could get away with doing things a long-time WWE main eventer could not? AW took a chance and it didn't pay off. He should have learned his lesson from the Jericho South America incident before he took it upon himself to be "bold" and have "attitude" with absolutely no reputation and proven track record to back him up. Jericho does and he still got suspended anyway. But then, Jericho doesn't write negative comments about his employer.

AW didn't get fired just for the Kobe Bryant "joke" (yeah, it wasn't funny) but also for his negative tweets and comments about the WWE, and the fact that he WAS just a mid-card rookie who didn't add anything to the shows and wasn't getting over well enough. His post-firing tweet was full of sour grapes ("the WWE turned it's back on me"; come on) rather than an admission that his personal attitude wasn't very good and he made an offensive "joke" on national TV. I would have more respect and sympathy for him if he had just tweeted "I f*cked up, guys, sorry. Apologies to anybody I offended."

But he chose the martyr route with his tweets. And that did bring out the bandwagon-jumpers who suddenly "realize" that they've been fans of his all along and the WWE was "wrong" to fire him.

That generally happens when any WWE mid-card performer gets fired. A guy who couldn't get over before suddenly has the "WWE universe" behind him. Strange.

I don't think anyone is jumping on the Bandwagon, but people can feel for the guy, he was released from his job, over a comment he made on WWE Raw, WWE took away his livelihood because he accidentally said something he shouldn't of, you got to have some sympathy for that!

Sure, he can go to work in another wrestling organization, but he won't be able to make as much money or have nearly the success he could of had in WWE, for WWE to just turn their backs on AW, I think it is a mistake by WWE!

    Interesting.

I for one have always been a fan of AW but more when he was Abraham Washington in FCW and ECW. As Abraham Washington in FCW/ECW he always had great segments and was very entertaining. Returning as AW I didn't feel the vibe he had as he was back then but he has been great so far with PTP it's a pity they'll have to go it alone but they sure can do it so long as they stop the horrible dog barking.

To answer your question, no I am not 'jumping on the bandwagon' if you will and it's your opinon, you're more than welcome to have it I'm not going to bag you for it.
