The pastor will not tolerate you fact-checking his claims and challenging the contextual basis of the scriptural quotes during his sermon. Besides, church is supposed to be a place of ritual purity. The medium that spreads pr0n and atheism and liberal-biased news is not welcome there.

No I don't think thats it. I think it could be because it is rude and interferes with the service. If you want to use your laptop or other electronic gear, stay home. It won't bother anyone if you do and you would certainly make you happier. I don't go to church but I'm pretty sure this question was meant to be mean so you lose.

The main reason is Church is a place to go to pray, And practice your belifs. Not for updating your Facebook status and tweeting.
