Here, who is more rude, insulting and condescending - an atheist or a theist?
Aren't atheists less patient with theists than theists are with atheists? If we claim intelligence, we must accept that here we see more atheists being rude than otherwise...why is it so? Is peaceful understanding a sign of maturity?
So many atheists express themselves well, yet kindly. And so many theists are intolerant of other religious or spiritual beliefs.
A famous saying in Vedas is.. Wisdom is expresses itself in humility.

"Wisdom is expresses itself in humility" <- I really like this part.
Well frankly it is not about theist or Atheist, it depends on the individual himself.
Some people with strong ego who claim to be highly religious will tend to be hurtful in their words but they forget the fact of the Vedas.
Some atheists as well due to their ego will tend to hurt those who think differently and bring them down and mocking them for their beliefs. I have come across some who claim to be Atheists who want to be respected and want to live life their own way but will never hesitate to insult someone simply because that person is religious and believes in God.
Well it all depends on an individual. We have our own reasons to believe or not to believe in God. If we think well maybe we are all different for a particular reason, therefore it would be nice to respect each others view in life, because just like there can be two sons of the same mother, one loves his father and the other loves his mother, however both are brothers after all, this applies to us as human beings, we all belong to the same universe irrespective of our beliefs and cultural differences.

it all depends on the individual. Plenty of Atheists are rude to theists, (i've noticed most of the time it's because stupid questions were asked that have already been answered multiple times.) i try not to be rude but some people can really try your patients.
But still i've never heard an atheist tell a Theist 'your going to burn in hell' which is terrible if they believe someone deserves such a thing.
Some Theists are nice, but with me a majority resort to 'i'll laugh when you burn' Which is more condencinding someone saying "your stupid,' or someone saying you deserve to be burned for all eternity.' even if you don't believe in that. i still find it quite hateful.
Some Atheists and Theists can get along. And that is normally when no threats, insults, or stupid questions come into play. My mom is a catholic and i'm an atheist and we have a good relationship.

Christians tend to be the nicest, and also the nastiest. Atheists tend to sit in the middle. You get the atheists that respect others beliefs, the ones that feel those with a religion should realise the flaws and not be brainwashed, and those that hate theists and call them idiots. Christians have the nice people that forgive and wish good things for everyone, and you get Christians that rant about how everyone is going to hell. I think the Wesborough Baptist church has done worse in the name of religion than any atheist has done in the name of atheism.

Theists are like herd animals, they stick together,
they have same thoughts, and generally react in a predictable way.
Atheists is groups, is individuals, is everyone, is no one.
Atheism cannot be generalized in anyway other then non belief in God.
Good and bad in every group, but don't make the mistake of thinking
the trolls represent anyone's beliefs or ideas.
They are the rude, insulting and condescending ones.

The atheists in this section are the rudest, most closed-minded and bitter people I've ever encountered. Literally everything they post is calling theists stupid.
I find it ironic that one poster on here claimed it to be the theists, and proceeded to write a rude, insulting and condescending remark. *cough USER1 cough*

Robert Abuse, Mao, Stalin and Lenin have been between the main prolific mass murderers in history. They used gunpoint to end human beings from praticing their faith. All of those circumstances to boot because of the fact the "Holy wars" and each "religious" conflict that has ever arisen in human history could be extra in basic terms attributed to the will of a few evil adult men to realize means, than to any religious ideals. they simply used faith as their justification as Lenin, Mao, and Stalin used the "evilness of religion" to justify their atrocities. learn some history in the past you spout off some ignorantly hateful comments, lest you're performing a similar because of the fact the "extremely-conservative christians" which you for sure so despise. You disagree? look on the Amish. They carry forth pacifism to the factor of forgiving people who kill their little ones. Do they fit interior the stereotype you're at present speaking approximately? How related to the certainty which you're at present in a rustic this is in line with Christian values, yet you have the skill to talk undesirable approximately Christianity, with certainly no retribution? OTW, there are religious enthusiasts in all religions, contain the religion of atheism. Barbara Ann, you're asking no longer persist with any faith? whilst is the final time you have been advised you had to circulate to church? so a good distance as i'm conscious, your rights in this type have on no account been violated. in case you have an occurrence the place your rights have been violated, the place you have been compelled to persist with the religion of others (no longer purely the guidelines of guy) then provide the situation.

Peaceful understanding may be the sign of maturity, or a sign of smoking a lot of pot. I suppose that most people on this forum have a hard time dealing with rank stupidity (and I mean on both sides), so that makes us more likely to be contentious.

How long you tolerate the beliefs of the other is in direct proportion to the effect the belief effects your life.
I could care less about Sharia Law. It has 0 effect on me and my life.
Australian Aborigine living in the Outback could care less about the Emancipation Proclamation.
On and on the examples go.
Keep your faith to yourself, fellowship with like-minded persons and don't try to make your faith public policy and we will never have a problem.

There are problems at the extremes of both sides, but I've never heard an atheist ( or any other non-Abraham religion) insist that we are inferior beings worthy of being tormented forever without end. On this basis, it has to be the followers of the god of Abraham.

A Hippocratic theist, claiming their religion/God are true all others are false and they hurt the sentiments of the true followers of another religion and commits a serious sin in the eyes of all God/Goddess.
