It is just a fever caused by a viral infection (an infection caused by a virus, such as HIV). And anyone can get a viral infection, most do at least once a year, that what the flu common cold are, viral infections that cause fevers. The fevers essentially kill the viruses by denaturing (ruining) the viruses proteins and inhibiting vital enzymes.
