Look at this house in Pensacola. 3 BR 2 Baths sunporch and pool for $80,000 and change. Yes, you'll have to replace the pool liner, but everything else looks pretty solid.

Scroll down to the map, and there's a tab where you can click on "Crimes."

It gives a map of the neighborhood, coded in green where you can see that it's a low-crime area, and that there were 8 crimes there. Burglaries and disturbances.

Compare it to this house.

Also 3 BR, 2 Bathrooms in the 80s, also some burglaries and disturbances in the area, but 33 total crimes and a lot more serious disturbances!

You can clearly see what's happening near any house in the nation on Trulia!

Why don't you just call the desk sergeant at the Pensacola police department? They can give you a give summary of neighborhood crime incidence. That's what I do whenever my husband and I are getting ready to move to another town. Just have your major cross streets written down and ready.
