Blackberry 9300 problem.?

I have just been to buy a Blackberry 9300 (second hand) for my daughter. It is unlocked but for some reason it will only accept the sim card that the owner has. We have tried 2 others including one that is on the same network as the owners and neither will allow the phone to progress from the initial boot up loading bar. The owners sim boots up fine. Any help would be appreciated.

Update:

Thanks Dinu V. thats really really helpful.

First make sure that your Blackberry is really unlocked, if it's a Blackberry that was used in some carrier and you are trying to use it with a sim card from the same carrier but from another country it won't work if it's not unlocked (for example Orange UK sim card on a Blackberry from Orange Spain with active SIM lock won't go without unlocking it).

So basically, to make sure that your Blackberry 9300 is unlocked:

    1. GO TO: Options > Advanced options > SIM card

    2. Dial: MEPD

    3. You will see a list with lines of sim locks and thier status, all the lines should be set as "Disabled" on unlocked Blackberry device.

If any of the lines you see there are "Active" then you need to unlock your Blackberry, you can use some remote Blackberry unlocking service such as http://www.blackberry-unlocking.org/ to order your unlock code and get it instantly to your mail and then unlock your Blackberry and the problem is solved.

If your Blackberry is unlocked (all the lines are disabled) then try this:

    1. Turn on your Blackberry with the original sim card.

    2. Go to "Manage connections" and turn all the connections off.

    3. Turn off your Blackberry and switch a sim card, turn it on..

It should load... then turn the connections and see what happens..

If it doesn't then download the Blackberry desktop software and try to load the device while it's connected to a PC, you can also reinstall the OS what should solve the problem anyway (if your Blackberry is unlocked it will stay unlocked even if you reinstall the OS)
