Hyundai 96 excel rear wheel bearing torque on hub nut?
Can anyone help me with the torque wrench setting for the rear wheel hub nut. I have replaced the hub assemblies because of noisy rear wheel bearings and find the hub nut has a torque setting. Any help greatly appreciated and thanks...
My Hyundai Excel was made in July 1996 according the makes ID plate, it was imported to Australia in August 1996 according to the Australian Compliance Plate so it does seem to be correct.
The tension you quote makes the bearings so tight the hub can't be turned even with the wheel on, and of course the hand brake off.
Sorry your help was not very correct. I took the car to a Hyundia dealership to have it set right. I was told there the Excel was produced from April 1994.

There was no excel in 1996. I found an accent, it's spec is 130-159 ft lbs; this is assuming that is the car you have. The spindle nut should be quite large to accept that torque value.

tighten it down until ultimately there's slightly unfastened,then jointly as turning the drum tighten it until there is not any play and then tighten it a million/4 turn extra.with the help of ways,that's meant to have a nylon lock nut on it-it rather is a nut with a hoop of nylon on the top of it.
