Washing machine installation?

We are replacing a washing machine. We have tried 2 washers from Sears Outlet and when installed by the delivery men they would not work. They would light up make beeps and noises but no water would come into the tub.

1. Is this just bad luck? We are going to find another retailer

2. Could there be a problem with our water pressure/supply?

3. Other.

We have not noticed any water problems in any of the other water faucets in the house. When I open the faucets for the inlet hoses to the washer there is good flow and pressure.

I asked the washer installer if the water pressure/supply was critical and he said no.

Any info appreciated

Update:

Thanks David: The tub does spin if I manually give it a push. Plus I would expect that the installers who install appliances all day long are aware of any transit bars. We did not keep the washers but had the installer takes them back because they could not get the tub to fill.

Update 2:

In conclusion: We bought a NEW washing machine from the retail Sears store and had it installed today with zero problems. So it looks like we got 2 bad ones from the outlet.

Thanks for your responses.

I can only guess that the installer failed to remove a plug from the inlet fittings of the washer. But I would expect the installer would not be able to connect the hoses - maybe. It cannot be your hoses or water supply.

I tried to find a free installation manual to see if there is a plug on the hot and cold water inlet connections. Couldn't find a free manual.

Otherwise, they just shipped you two washers with a problem.

I ran into a problem like this once while I was on a service call. It turned out that their inlet hoses (similar to these http://www.tooldistrict.com/FloodSafe-Washing-Mach... ) were improperly activating because tremendous water pressure in the house. Maybe the inlet hoses themselves are the problem?

There many varieties of washer. despite if it rather is a tension actuated type, you ought to setting up an enduring connecting pipe to make it the operable. a familiar form desires in hassle-free terms a water hose to top off the unit with water to the ultimate point. there is likewise water point actuator type: the place the unit would not perform at a definite below minimum water point. in short, you to invite for the instruction manual. savor.

most(if not all) washing machines when new have"transit bars" fitted to protect the drum during transit. check your manual to see if this is relavent in your case. if it is get the company back to remove them and the washer should work.
