using norethindrone for birth control. how long till it starts working?

my doc put me on norethindrone because all the other pill make me a bit crazy.

no one told me how long i have to wait till it kicks in. i used seasonique and i had to wait 7 days till i could stop using condoms. also noticed norethindrone wont mess with my cycle like any other pills do.

someone please explain

    Have a look at its leaflet. It should be so:

    - if you start taking it on the first day of your period, it works immediately

    - if you start on the 2nd - 5th day, it will be effective after 7 days
