I have a galaxy 3 running android 2.1 and want to update it ota if possible

How do I do that?

    AFAIK, Samsung only updates their phones over KIES PC suite, not OTA.

    To check if an OTA update is available, hit the 'Menu' button, then select 'Settings' then select 'About phone'. Then select 'System updates'. It will automatically check for an update.
