how much does it cost to go to Australia?

I'm afraid of planes.. and kind of wanting to avoid one.  Could I take a ship to Australia?  well, which one would be cheaper? I live in Michigan.. and after I pay off my student loan, i'd like to save up enough money to be able to go to Australia.  I've always wanted to go, even as a kid I wanted to go.
How much would it cost for 2-3 people going, also?

Air fare from LAX to Sydney is about $2000.00

Cruise ship from the West Coast is about $6000.00

Over come your fear of flying. Many people are afraid but those people that finally go wonder why they where afraid . millions of people fly daily . far safer than driving in a car. You need your fare and accomodation and food allowance. It depends how long you want to stay and if you come on a working visa . It is expensive in Australia as the Australian dollar is high . Back packing hostels are a good way for young people to holiday here as they meet up with other young travellers from all over the world. I will send you a link

Probably $2000 per person.  That's why Aussies are gone a long time when they travel.  It's too gawd-awful expensive!

Forget about a ship.  Spend your time at sea and have no time for the trip.
