How much do you pay your babysitter?

at one time i was paying $185 a week (8.5 hours a day) for two kids. but the baby sitter was really good with the kids and toughed them things like health eating habits, how to be nice to others, she read to them, played games with them, and even let them try new foods. it was really a good experience for my children.

I don't use a sitter often, and am usually gone just a few hours if that. But to make it worth their while and because I do require credentials, I pay 10$ an hour. But if I needed the service on a consistent basis, I would work something out on a weekly basis.

i get paid 2 dollars an hour, but i only do family friends and such.

ask if you can get paid afterwards, or discuss wages after so you know how the kids are and stuff. if the kids are fairly easy then you can have a lower rate, but if they were hard to work with and obnoxious say a higher price. then meet with the parents and discuss a good rate. good luck!
