could heaven be filled with serial killers?

Lets say a man goes on a killing spree and takes the lives of 200 people. One day he is caught and put in prison for life. While in heaven he comes to know god and truly repent for his sins. Does that mean that he is forgiven and goes to heaven? While the children's cancer researcher who saved 1000's with his research goes to hell because he was alway a little on the fence about God and Heaven?

Update:

While in prison he come to know god I type while in HEAVEN sry.

Update 2:

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I Could say I am on the fence every now and then my self. That is why I posted this question in a religious forum. I was hopeing to get a thought out answer, but it seems all theres forums are full of are people who for argument sake can't even look at a question from a different angle. All they want to do it type there "god does not exist" and move on. You know in a debate you are told witch side of an argument you will fight for. So here is a thought just one think outside the box.

Heaven will be filled with forgiven sinners. What their sins were is of no importance to God as they have been forgiven of whatever it was they did.

If people could get into heaven by their own good works than Jesus' coming to earth and dying for us would have been a colossal waste of time. Jesus paying the price for our sins gave us all an equal opportunity to have a relationship with God. It allows us all to have equal access to forgiveness regardless of the kind of life we've lived or the sins we've committed. That means that the murderer and the doctor who saves many lives both have the same chance to seek forgiveness from God.

The Bible says: "There is no difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus." (Romans 3:23&24) It also says: "For it is by grace you are saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God--not by works, so that no one can boast." (Ephesians 2:8&9)

The point is that, in God's view, no one is good enough to save themselves and He is the only means of salvation. The gift of salvation is free and unearned but you have to accept it on God's terms--admitting that He is God and you are a sinner who needs the salvation that God offers.

When you go through the permutations of possibilities, it should dawn on anyone that Heaven is a whimsy of the imagination.
